About Southern Running Group

Southern Running Group was established in March 2012 as a local running group in the Southern Suburbs of the city of Adelaide, Australia. Affiliated with the South Australian Road Runners Club, the biggest Running club in Australia we meet twice weekly for free group runs in the Southern suburbs.

The aim of the group is simply to bring like minded people together to run and encourage each other in a fun and supportive environment.

Everyone is welcome and I’m sure you’ll find someone to match your speed and distance. There is no cost to join the group.

We have a mix of runners with different levels of experience and distances ranging from those working up to 5km through to marathons and ultra-marathons.

'Run Club'

On Wednesday nights at 6pm we meet at The Running Company - South Adelaide, shop 1 / 39a Beach Road, Christies Beach 5165, for a run around 5-7km’s.

This is less formal than Saturday’s and we typically run without formal maps although there'll generally be groups close enough to each other so that there's no difficulty staying on course.
Saturday morning group run

Morphett Vale run

Each Saturday we have a couple of courses mapped out with maps and directions provided.

The routes are approximately 5km, 10km & 20km in distance.

We normally meet at the park at the end of Albert Terrace Morphett Vale (off Wheatsheaf Rd) every Saturday at 7am for a 7.15am start. Once a month, on the last Saturday of the month we have an ‘Away’ run when we meet at a different location.
