How Katrina became a runner!

Vijay - From Smoker to Runner
I was looking to join a social group and could only find quilting groups!
A guy at work suggested I start running. I laughed. Thought he was joking, but he wasn't. Did a start to run course with SARRC in the city on a Wed night (I work with the lady who was one of the organisers).
Did the City to Bay 9wks later and this year joined SRG. Haven't looked back! Will run my first half marathon on 13 Oct 2013 and am planning to do the NYC Marathon in 2015!
I always thought runners were idiots....now I know they are! Boy do we have a lot of fun (SRG in particular).
I am married man with three young boys aged 12, 7 and 4. I am working in the IT industry for the past 20 years. After the birth of our third son I quit smoking and boozing. Took me 25 years to realize there is nothing to gain out of these bad habits. To be a good role model to my kids and family it was the best thing I had done.
